The key precautions for using die-casting molds mainly include the following aspects:


1. Installation and Preheating: The die-casting mold must be installed on a die-casting machine with excellent performance that matches the original design model. The die-casting alloy material used must also conform to the original design specifications. Before installation, inspect all external fastening bolts to ensure no looseness before proceeding. Before trial molding, thoroughly lubricate all sliding and guiding components. Perform several slow-speed repeated opening and closing cycles to observe whether all parts of the mold operate normally. Confirm smooth, reliable, and flexible operation before initiating trial molding.


2‌. Process Parameter Adjustment: During trial molding, the mold should be thoroughly preheated, with slightly lower molten material temperature and injection pressure selected, along with moderate injection speed for pressure testing. Adequate cooling is essential, and the mold should be opened at low speed. Based on trial molding results, gradually adjust each die-casting process parameter to achieve optimal conditions. It is strictly prohibited to conduct trial molding under high pressure, high speed, or without preheating from the outset.

Maintenance and Care: Before each shift begins, all sliding and guiding parts of the mold should be evenly lubricated, and the bolts of the mold mounting plates should be checked for any loosening. During production, the guiding and sliding parts of the mold should be frequently cleaned and lubricated to ensure smooth, accurate movement without any jamming. If any abnormalities are detected during production, the machine should be stopped promptly for inspection.


4‌. Materials and Design: The materials for die-casting molds must be high-quality steel. The design should consider appropriate wall thickness and size, with cooling water channels positioned to ensure uniform surface temperature in the mold cavity. The runner, gate, and overflow designs must be properly configured to allow smooth metal flow into all parts of the mold cavity.


5‌. Heat treatment and stress relief: Die-casting molds should undergo proper heat treatment before use, with quenching performed at an adequate speed. After repair and welding, molds should promptly undergo stress relief treatment to eliminate stresses generated during production.


6. Cleaning and Inspection: Regularly clean the mold parting surface to prevent burrs or dirt accumulation. Keeping the parting surface clean helps prevent mold damage and improves product quality. Each shift team should thoroughly inspect the molds according to the "Mold Inspection Checklist" upon taking over, promptly addressing any issues identified.
